Katrina
This hurricane is so devastating. The news tries to hurry it up that things are all going "according to plan," but they're not. Mom is the assistant to director of the Medicare and Medicaid and has been getting all the calls and reports that they aren't showing on the news and it's just so bad. FEMA has been contacting them cause they are trying to get Medicaid to do their work. Thanks to our administration, most of the coast guard is in Iraq, because of course hurricanes are nothing for them to worry about... and a likely cause that other countries will want to donate much money to us when we are the most selfish nation on this planet and donated far less that other major countries in response to the Tsunami. People are being attacked by rats who have come out from hiding, as well as biting red ants. Bodies are being stuck in trees and tied so they can be properly buried eventually. The poor animals that had no chance. This is all just so sad and unbelievable. It is so worth donating for this, even if it's $20.. I saw these kids dumping their piggy banks at donation spots and it was so touching. If a 7 yr old kid can give up their change, I think we can all give up the cost of a couple cds or a dinner out.
My heart really goes out to everyone who has been effected by this.
